Artist’s Note:
This diptych riffs on Titian’s Venus Blindfolding Cupid, but seen through a 21st‑century eye trained on glowing screens and short attention spans. The space, light, and muted Renaissance colors are still there, but they collide with sharp primaries, stretched bodies, and fake, almost “photoshopped” details that feel a bit plasticky thanks to the acrylic paint. The genderless “memes” stand in for our urge to simplify everything, until classical ideas of the body, history, love, and gender start to feel almost unintelligible.

Titian Venus Blindfolding Cupid. (c. 1565)
